  • Climbing in Kamouraska

    The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) has reached an agreement with the Society for Ecology Batture Kamouraska (SEBKA) so that our members can climb for free in exchange for liability insurance coverage offered by ACC. This is the first agreement that we signed with the owner of a wall in Quebec, but we do not intend to stop this track and we hope others will follow the example of SEBKA and sign an agreement us. A bilingual website will be established shortly to announce the progress we make.

    If you plan to visit at Kamouraska, please read the conditions of access below and do not forget your membership card!

    * The site is open from May 15 to October 15;
    * All climbers must arrive at the home SEBKA (Ecological Society of Kamouraska sandbar) to comply with the regulations of the site daily and get the parking ticket daily;
    * Hours of use of the site are from 8:00 AM until one hour before sunset;
    * It is strictly forbidden to sleep on the sites and make fires;
    * A helmet is strongly recommended and would be appreciated if members of the ACC lead by example;
    * There is no smoking on the sites because sites for fire (peat);
    * Dogs are prohibited at all times on the site;
    * The climbers are requested to close gates behind them when they use cattle access trails.

    This right of access is a privilege that we may be withdrawn, honoring him with your good conduct, we know we can no longer take anything for granted in terms of access.

    Sincerely,

    Cindy Doyle
    Présidente, Club alpin du Canada - Section Outaouais
